In 2018, BetterBeliefs worked with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES).
BetterBeliefs was tasked with demonstrating a method for evidence-based stakeholder engagement and strategic decision-making to help inform the organisation’s 2030 Strategy development.
What we did
This was a great opportunity for us to work with a large organisation that has a diverse decision-making requirements and a large group of stakeholders spread across the State.
We worked with a wide variety of representatives and incorporated data supplied from staff, volunteers, community members, QFES leadership and consulting experts.
Top down hypotheses were provided by QFES leadership at the beginning of the project constructed from the synthesis and analysis of a range of data sources.
Bottom up hypotheses emerged from stakeholder engagement data as the project progressed.
Data was added to hypotheses and weighted using BetterBeliefs platform features, then the BetterBeliefs analytics provided clear metrics about the evidence and support for each hypothesis. This process allowed for the inclusion of a large and diverse range of evidence from contributors and statistical analysis and synthesis of the contributions to inform effective strategy development.
We were pleased to be able to deliver high quality results to inform senior leadership as they plan for the future.
Through this process were also able to demonstrate that there are very few barriers to participation and engagement with the BetterBeliefs platform – it does not exclude geographically; technologically; or socially isolated members of the community.
In 2018, the BetterBeliefs team were engaged by the Department to analyse existing diverse, unstructured and structured Queensland Fire & Emergency Services (QFES) stakeholder engagement data to produce actionable and evidence-based insights for the 2030 QFES Strategy. The team were fast, professional, responsive and created high quality results to inform senior leadership. –
